I recently came across a great info graphic displaying the evolution of the logo for everyone’s favorite badass superhero, Batman (very cool print available here). The artist displayed the near yearly changes to the logo, yet at every stage, a viewer/consumer knows exactly to what the logo references. This same philosophy is used by company’s like Dunkin Donuts, and other large businesses to keep the brand familiar yet fresh at the same time.
Unfortunately, often small to medium size businesses get stuck with their original marketing designs, not allowing for fresh design or today’s graphics technologies to make them appear cutting edge, fresh, or even just up-to-date. A slight update to your logo may help to keep your brand current in a fast paced business world. When thinking about what you can do in your 2013 marketing plan, consider a logo update, and utilizing that into new marketing materials to keep your company, brand, or products appealing to the eye.
