Project Description

Lee Blake, President of the society approached us to design a new logo. Our creative team worked within the historical perspective of the society’s Nathan and Polly Johnson house on Seventh St. in New Bedford, MA.

The design elements feature the house on 7th st. where many escaped slaves passed through, including Frederick Douglas, the path leading to the house represents the path from southern slavery, and the North Star which can be seen in the background guided the runaway slaves. We wanted to incorporate these elements and give the logo a historical feel.
